ABOUT THE PANEL

Richard Austin: Richard Austin is Chief Legal Counsel for EDS Canada. Richard heads a team of lawyers, contract professionals and administrative staff with responsibility for the legal aspects of EDS’ business in Canada. After being called to the Bar in 1985, he worked for a Toronto-based law firm, Stikeman, Elliott, for six years. Richard left the firm to join EDS Canada in 1991. Richard is a graduate of the University of Toronto Law School and holds a Masters in Pure Mathematics from the University of Calgary. He is also a director and former president of the Canadian IT Law Association.

Michael Case: Michael Case is Senior Counsel, Information Technology, with CIBC, where he has practiced since 1998. His responsibilities include the negotiation and settlement of outsourcing agreements and IT contracts of all types. He has acted for CIBC on several large outsourcing projects, which included detailed service level agreements, including deals involving the outsourcing of IT infrastructure, telecom support, HR administrative services, mutual fund back office services and the processing of trades in securities.

Richard Corley: Richard Corley is co-head of Blakes’ national Information Technology Group and specializes in the negotiation of complex outsourcing transactions. Over the past 16 years Richard has negotiated many of Canada’s largest outsourcing transactions and is widely recognized, in Canada and abroad, as a leading Canadian information technology lawyer. Richard is a founding director of the Centre for Outsourcing Research and Education, a director of the Canadian IT Law Association and an active member and participant in IAOP, SIG and a number of other outsourcing related organizations. Richard has a background in engineering and law degrees from Osgoode and Yale Law School.

COST FOR ATTENDANCE

Cost for lunch: ten dollars ($10) for members and students, twenty dollars ($20) for non-members, payable at the meeting. Receipts will be available. Cheques should be made payable to the Toronto Computer Lawyers’ Group.

Substitutions are permitted anytime. Registrants who do not attend and do not cancel or send a substitute may be invoiced for lunch.
